An adorable litter of German Shepherd puppies brought smiles and stress relief to the Minnesota State Capitol on Tuesday, March 7. After a two-year COVID-induced hiatus, Animal Humane Society’s Puppy Day at the Capitol returned, providing dozens of legislators and staff an opportunity to snuggle and snap photos with the sweet shepherd pups.
In addition to providing a break from their hectic schedules, the event was an opportunity for legislators to meet AHS staff, learn about the organization’s work, and its policy priorities – state funding for a new animal care campus (Oumou Verbeten SF 2148/ Finke HF 2013) and the Companion Animal Board bill (Dibble SF 1136/Freiberg HF 1168).
